Bloody Oliver
I really loved the BBC production of Oliver Twist, which ended tonight. I grew up in Brasil (as I'm sure you are sick of knowing by now) and almost every time I met someone, they'd say "Oliver? Like in Oliver Twist?" Yes! How original of you to point that out!
That's when they could actually say my name properly. Most people thought it was Oliveira (a popular surname in Brasil), or just gave up in confusion after a few tries.
But, getting back to this week's show. As I understand, the watershed is 9 p.m., and anything too violent gets shown after it, right? So how did the BBC get away with that violent scene last night where Nancy gets murdered? That was 'orrible, that was. And the police killing Ezekiel today wasn't much nicer. I can't help thinking a lot of kids will be having nightmares before the old man climbs down their chimney.
