I like it's maudlinesque quality. It's a grower.

Are Hercules and Love Affair still going? I preferred the uptempo Antony.

I know they are playing gigs soon. Maybe an album is in the pipes?

What does the interest "the self as spiral" mean, please?

Have not seen you in too long.

And why are you looking at my userinfo, Mr Ed? Are you stalking me? :-)

The self as spiral came from my brother, who got into spirals in nature and art (fractoids?) - that sort of stuff. Coupled with that, I knew that Virginia Woolf had a literary theory that men created stories like peaks (heading towards a high) whereas women created stories as spirals, moving in circles in a way, but ascending as well. And I sort of agreed with it and think that the self, in a way, is exactly like that.

When are you and Sarah coming down again to visit us?

Fascinating...coincides rather nicely with this quotation I found from Justin Sullivan: "Youth tends to see things very much in black and white but as I grow older, I see it not so much as 'shades of grey' but more as a kind of chaotic Carnival of bright conflicting colours.">

I like that... a chaotic Carnival of sounds and music too.

Suzi and I saw him/them in 2001. It was quite mesmerizing.

I'd love to see him live some time, either with his band or Hercules and Love Affair... just that little problem of getting a ticket in time!

I'd happily pay tout prices for him. Like a L'Oreal commercial: 'Cos he's WORTH IT ;)

I've only seen him play with Current 93 (he did his version of 'Soft Black Stars' and it was wonderful) and I must ask... is he as brilliant and lovely and enchanting with his own band as he is with others?

I would *LOVE* to see him live.

Actaully, we saw him & his band opening for C93 many years ago and, yes, it was everything you would imagine plus silly clothes. (A couple years after that I saw him at a piano with only a violinist accompanying and that was excellent too.)
